Frame00216.JPG (154228 bytes)Tom's note: We are in the process of collecting and organizing Carolyn'es1.jpg (98406 bytes) this page.  Any ideas are welcome!  A few ideas that I have...

Planting lots of shrubbery, Potted+Herbs.jpg (34831 bytes) Grasses, plants will invite more Marlene Flowers.jpg (44800 bytes) species of birds, while the lawn will invite some species, like robins.  Most birds will prefer being able to duck into some plants to hide.

Some evergreens near the feeder will make birds more secure in winter.

Peanut Frame00222.JPG (143444 bytes)  butter and Jelly invite species that might be overlooked by others.  It's easier than Orange slices and sugar water to keep in summer.

I have never, but there are people who swear by a water heater. Frame00009.JPG (112963 bytes)  Judging by my pigeons, they are right.  Some people consider this more important than food.  It's about   time 0012005.jpg (55420 bytes) I tried it!

Evergreens are preferred in winter.  Some species like to nest there, too.  Every year my neighbor has a cardinal nest in her fir tree.

About making a meadow:  Birds love being Goldfish+Pond.jpg (34425 bytes) able to hide, and eat the seeds of many of the flowers that were beautiful in summer.

I think a superb idea is something that I heard on TV, but I don't know how to pursue.  Maybe we can work together to achieve this:  I have heard that it's possible to register your property as a wildlife refuge, which is just a cool Idea, I think.
